Su contenido se ha extra\u00eddo de obras de referencia y normas en la materia, as\u00ed como de la experiencia de los distintos miembros del grupo de trabajo. La gu\u00eda se basa en un documento elaborado por la OAI (Ordre des Architectes et des Ing\u00e9nieurs-Conseils &#8211; Orden de Arquitectos e Ingenieros Consultores). La gu\u00eda se redact\u00f3 para ayudar a sus miembros a afrontar el reto que plantea BIM. En este contexto, la OAI pudo definir, para un proyecto BIM, el marco de colaboraci\u00f3n dentro del equipo de gesti\u00f3n del proyecto y las interacciones con el propietario. Dado que el BIM es un tema tan amplio y que afecta a todos los agentes del sector, la OAI entreg\u00f3 sus estudios al CRTI-B para que un grupo de trabajo intersectorial lo completara reuniendo a todos los agentes del sector en Luxemburgo. La Gu\u00eda de aplicaci\u00f3n BIM se ha concebido para proporcionar una referencia com\u00fan a todos los involucrados en el sector de la construcci\u00f3n. Cuando se trata de entender qu\u00e9 es BIM y los cambios que supondr\u00e1 para los proyectos, es absolutamente esencial que todo el mundo hable el mismo idioma y opere en igualdad de condiciones.
