JTC CleanTech Two (CT2B) is a state-of-the-art tech park configured to support research, as well as testing and developing activities, while housing cleantech incubation facilities. CT2B’s process was facilitated by a ‘4-stage digitalised’ approach through Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) geared towards design and construction.
Tuas Port
The upcoming Tuas Port will be developed in four phases, with the first phase slated to start in 2021. Tuas Port has adopted an IDD approach, working with advanced info-communication technologies and smart technologies to keep stakeholders aligned with processes throughout all phases of port operations through one source.

Riigi Kinnisvara AS (RKAS) is a public sector real estate company using BIM technology in the procurement and development of its construction projects. Through BIM, RKAS has accelerated its digital transformation, increased efficiency and provided more functional buildings with lower lifecycle costs, while making better use of taxpayers’ money in the construction sector.
Empresa de Desarrollo Urbano de MedellÃn (EDU) is a public-private urban development company geared towards improving living standards for local residents.This is made possible within sectors such as housing, through designs enabled by BIM. Out of a team of 150 members, 47 of EDU’s staff work regularly with BIM. As such, EDU are a project developer and management entity that centralizes and develops urban and architectonic projects.
The ABV project began in July 2016, using BIM to reverse-engineer the construction of 30 social housing units in La Rochelle and compare the process (from programming to production phase) to the original process, done without BIM.
Hosted on the CDBB’s website, this massive open online training course (MOOC), launched in 2019, is presented in timed modules including reference materials and explanatory videos. It offers a guided pathway to a standards-based, public sector-led Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation and is aimed at policymakers and public clients involved with procuring, owning or operating built assets.
The modules provide an understanding of BIM and the strategic building blocks of its implementation, alongside other topics such as the importance of public leadership in the construction sector’s digital transformation and how digital transformation can create private and public sector benefits.
The MOOC is delivered in two ways:
- A self-study option for public sector stakeholders who cannot engage with CDBB’s international team.
- More interactive reference material that supports and supplements direct engagement with the CDBB’s International team and partner consultants.

A report for the Government Construction Client Group, the Building Information Modelling (BIM) Working Party strategy paper
This report was compiled by the BIM Industry Working Group in 2011 to brief the Construction Clients Group on the benefits of digital ways of working in the built environment.
It was commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Efficiency Reform Group from the Cabinet Office to devise a strategy to increase the uptake of Building Information Modelling (BIM) among public sector clients over a five-year period.
The adoption of BIM would not only improve the performance of government estate in terms of costs, value and carbon performance but also support and promote the UK construction sector’s standing and reputation in international markets.
Collaboration between industry and academia is crucial to ensure an increase of competency through on-going training, toolkits and knowledge exchange, supported by standards and accreditations.
