This BIM Guide, published by myBIM is formulated as a fundamental approach to educate construction players for the BIM adoption in Malaysia. The Guide enables construction industry players to improve productivity and efficiency of the construction process by adopting higher usage of modern technology. This is in line with the Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) which aims to raise productivity level across the Malaysian construction industry. This BIM Guide provides directive, references and process guidelines to the construction players at both organisational and project level and has been published in three booklets. This guide forms as part 2, BIM Readiness. Part 1 and 3 look cover the topics of BIM Awareness and BIM Adoption. This guide is booklet 2 of the suite of 3 published and aims to equip readers with the knowledge on the fundamentals of BIM. This booklet will explain the fundamentals of BIM in addition to explaining the types of BIM tools and Level of detail (Lod) which are involved in the BIM process. With strong understanding of the fundamentals, readers will be aware of the benefits and know WHY they should adopt BIM in their project/organisation. For further understanding and clarification of the BIM adoption processes, it is advisable for the construction players to acquire skills and knowledge by attending the myBIM BIM Roadshow, BIM training programs provided by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and refer to Jabatan Kerja RayaÂ’s (JKR) BIM Guideline.

This is the website for the non-profit association – BIM Croatia. This organisation contributes to the initiation and development of the application of BIM in Croatia by setting standards through various professions, jobs and software, and also advise, educate encourage and inform about the application of BIM in the right way. The website has a wealth of resources, including a link to a Handbook for the introduction of BIM by the European public sector, etc., guidelines, and a vast array of BIM-related articles, with a historical archive. There are also links to BIM-related events and courses. The Guidelines for BIM approach in infrastructure projects is issued by the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers, and looks at the full application of BIM in infrastructure projects.

The Danish Building and Property Agency is a part of the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing. The agency is the state’s largest property enterprise, contractor and supplier of government work spaces. The agency is divided into three core business areas; Construction, Facility Management, and Rent. As the government’s property enterprise for universities and office workplaces they have a mission that they must deliver more efficiently and professionally, than if the customers themselves were responsible. The Danish Building and Property Agency has evidently found that BIM models enables better coordination in projects, especially when combined with an efficient digital quality assurance. Better data for operations and maintenance is both an opportunity and a challenge, and the Agency will focus on these data for the years to come. Denmark has had ICT regulations for larger public sector construction projects since 2007. The Danish Building and Property Agency has been the responsible authority for those ICT regulations since 2011. These regulations state requirements for the use of BIM and the open source IFC standard. This document titled the ‘Regulation concerning the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in public constructionÂ’ explains the use of ICT, including BIM for projects in Denmark. The regulation covers some of the legal aspects of BIM implementation including procurement and use or exchange of data.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (Väylävirasto), shortened to FTIA, is a Finnish government agency responsible for the maintenance of Finland’s road, rail, and waterway systems. The agency’s parent organization is the Ministry of Transport and Communications. FTIA have an annual budget for their works in the region of 2.1 billion euros. The FTIA is composed of five divisions and two functional areas that report directly to the Director General. These divisions are: Operations Management, Transport Network Planning, Projects, Infrastructure Management, Infrastructure Access and Information. FTIA is a skilled procurement organisation whose mission is promoting the easy movement of people and the efficient transport of goods by the world of business. In the summer of 2019, FTIA committed to the a vision for standardizing the information management of the built environment: “Defined and regulated information flows comprehensively throughout the entire life cycle of the built environment. The starting point in FTIAÂ’s operations is that each project would be implemented in the best possible way based on information models and open information management standards. However, the quality of the data models has not been measured or monitored Operations are supported by interoperable information services and systems. These pages contain the FTIAÂ’s current guidelines and draft guidelines related to infrastructure. The current technical guidelines and standards are also presented in the FITA’s list of guidelines. The project’s data management and data modelling are guided by the instructions in this document, the order of competence of which in the event of conflict is the order mentioned. If a further instruction has made a clarification or additions to the higher instructions that do not conflict with the higher instruction, the lower instruction applies. The Development Bureau of Hong Kong was created on 1 July 2007 as part of a governmental reorganisation. The Bureau has responsibility for urban planning and land administration, which originally fell under the Planning, Environment and Lands Bureau when the Hong Kong SAR government was established in 1997. The Development Bureau was established and took over the responsibility of planning and lands administration from the Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau, public works from the Environment, Transportation and Works Bureau, and heritage conservation from Home Affairs Bureau. The Development BureauÂ’s policy objectives include ensuring the effective planning, management and implementation of public sector infrastructure development and works programmes in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner and to maintain high quality and standards. The Technical Circular (Works) No. 12/2020 is a memo from the secretary for development regarding the adoption of Building Information Modelling for Capital Works Projects in Hong Kong. Under this technical circular, the contractor/ consultant engaged for capital works projects with estimates more than $30 million and with tenders to be invited on or after 1 January 2021 shall establish a BIM team led by a BIM Team Leader who shall be a CIC-Certified BIM Manager (CCBM) with effect from 1 July 2021. In the meantime, it is not necessary that the BIM Coordinator should be a CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator (CCBC) provided that he/she could meet the experience requirements as stipulated in this Circular.

A global team of over 200 experts are continually improving these templates for free access to all BIM communities around the word. In alignment with ISO 19650, the templates team didn’t want the world to keep reinventing the wheel when it comes to BEPs and other ISO 19650 resources. Having a central resource for experts to curate and all teams around the world to access for free helps advance the use of BIM more rapidly – but importantly – in a standardised way.

Developed by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat – PUPR) in collaboration with Institut BIM Indonesia (iBIMi), this guide was created to assist organisations in adopting and implementing BIM. It recommends that BIM adoption and implementation plans be supported and supervised by senior management and evaluated regularly in order to guide an organisation’s migration toward digitalisation.

This document can be updated and evaluated according to scale, structure and organisational size.

This framework was published under the ‘Support Skills Development and Develop Appropriate Tools’ workstream of the Digital Building Transition Plan (PTNB). It allows trainers to develop BIM courses that are suited to the real needs of contractors and construction companies.

The stages in the life of a building have been broken down into about 20 activities that may involve members of the project management or companies. Each activity is associated with the skills specific to the stage of the project and to the project management or construction professionals. Skills are 4 to 14 per activity, to which must be added transversal skills for all the activities. These skills are broken down into knowledge and know-how. They are described and presented according to the recommendations of the National Commission for Professional Certification (CNCP).

This freely accessible document was published under the ‘Building Trust in Digital’ workstream of the Digital Building Transition Plan (PTNB). It was developed by digital construction specialists and uses an automated form to support the preparation of BIM agreements.

Published in Word or Excel, it covers all the sections to be developed in a BIM agreement and offers a questionnaire to help draft the sections, so they are appropriate to the project. Processes common to all BIM projects are also included. To create a bespoke agreement, the BIM management team only has to complete the fields indicated with the characteristics of their project.
