Bogotá Metro BIM Design Presentation

Metro de Bogotá presented designs using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology. BIM is platform for information management in engineering/infrastructure megaprojects, achieves 1-5% savings in construction phase. Generates integration of civil works, networks, structures, topography data to create digital models graphically collecting project information. Use of tool allows georeferenced information integration for each project component. 5D tool enables detailed information visualization in real time. Data Room (Cuarto de Datos) available to potential proponents and general public since August 24, 2018: 9,747 documents of studies and designs published. Manager Andrés Escobar explained accessibility for transparency.
