According to World Bank smart city in Philippine context refers to innovative urban area leverages technology innovation to improve functionality sustainability livability. Several opportunities for U.S. firms in various sectors especially ICT digital connectivity energy smart infrastructure smart transportation. Major government thrust is digital transformation journey. President Marcos recently approved Philippine Digital Infrastructure Project worth $288M intended boost broadband connectivity nationwide especially in remote areas. Key part of government’s strategy to address Metro Manila’s urban pressures push growth development outwards. Hence rise of mixed-use projects township developments providing areas amenities for home work play for residents. Efforts mostly driven by private sector largely due to increased BPO investments.
