Case Study: Remodelling As-Built Documentation of Railway Construction into BIM and GIS Environment

Research analyzing remodelling of existing CAD documentation of Railway Station Šumice into BIM CDE and GIS environment. Evaluated effectiveness of remodelling existing railway as-built documentation for Railway Administration of Czech Republic. Addresses BIM data standard developed by State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. Conclusions show GIS environment (layer oriented) proved faster for remodelling compared to BIM CDE (object oriented) for railway structures with many special objects.
