Smart Cities and Smart Villages Azerbaijan

Spread of digital technologies for construction of smart city prerequisite. 44-day war accelerated need to restore cities and villages liberated from occupation in Karabakh region. To develop Karabakh sustainably Smart City/Smart Village concept primary item on agenda. Government understands need, President announced establishment Smart Cities/Villages in Karabakh. Region devastated, no infrastructure, should be built from scratch with innovations implemented. Digital divide mainly due to shortages fixed infrastructure and lower levels digital literacy in rural areas. Country needs to make broadband internet faster cheaper more accessible. Urban infrastructure problems: waste management, resource scarcity, air pollution, health concerns, traffic congestion, deteriorating infrastructure
